Meridian Waste has expanded its services in Alabama and Mississippi with the recent acquisition of Evergreen Environmental Partners Holdings, LLC (EEP) & ADSI Holdings, LLC (ADSI).

The Charlotte-based waste services provider is in "full-growth mode," stated CEO Walter "Wally" Hall shortly following the announcement.

"Our management team is very familiar with the Alabama and Mississippi marketplaces from previous roles in the industry," Hall said in a statement. "We are confident that we can grow the solid base of business already built by Darren and Anthony Rizzo alongside the many dedicated team members of EEP and ADSI and with the continued support of our private equity partner, Warren Equity Partners. Together, we look forward to integrating these assets into our Southeast footprint and having Meridian Waste become a major part of the Alabama and Mississippi solid waste services industry."

BTG Pactual Strategic Capital previously held majority interest in both EEP and ADSI. The deal transfers ownership of the Noble Hill MSW LandfillEEP Transfer Station in the greater Huntsville, Ala.  as well as hauling, administrative and maintenance facilities servicing more than 50 commercial, industrial and residential contracts.

“The partnership with BTG Pactual enabled the creation of a strategic vertically integrated solid waste platform while generating considerable shareholder value," said EEP CEO Darren Rizzo. "Knowing that EEP’s customers and employees will be part of a company led by Meridian’s Chief Executive Officer, Wally Hall, we are confident in the continued success of the business.”

This is the 30th acquisiton under ownership of Warren Equity Partners (WEP) since April 2018. Details of the transaction were not disclosed.
