The Austrailia-based Sims Group acquired Xstrata Cooper Canada’s three e-scrap recycling facilities located in Roseville, Calif., Lavergne, Tenn., and Brampton, Ontario.

“The acquisitions are a logical extension of the company’s legislation driven Recycling Solutions business in Europe,” said Jeremy Sutcliffe, Sims Group’s CEO, in a press release.

Sims Group also acquired Chicago-based United Recycling Industries. Company officials believe the acquisitions will serve as a platform to further the company’s growth in an expanding North American market.
