Corey Miller of Miller Sanitation announced on February 13 the sale of his company to Waste Management of Minnesota.

Miller Sanitation operates in southwestern and central Minnesota. The business transaction includes seven collection vehicles that provide recycling and trash collection service to more than 2,500 residential customers and roughly 500 commercial customers. Waste Management said it will retain all of Miller Sanitation’s current employees.

“I am very excited about being able to continue providing trash and recycling service in the Wilmar area,” said Miller in a statement. “Waste Management has done a good job taking care of me and my employees by allowing all of us to keep our positions with the company. We know that familiarity in this business is important, and we want our customers to be assured that they will see the same friendly faces providing their trash and recycling service.”

Customers of Miller Sanitation will be sent a letter notifying them of the change, and Waste Management cites its mindset of “customer first” as a key driver in making the transition as smooth as possible.

“Waste Management places a very high priority on our customers, and we are working to inform Miller Sanitation customers of the change as quickly as possible,” said Dan Behnke, Waste Management senior district manager, in a statement. “We also welcome any new customers in the Wilmar area to contact Waste Management for rates on all of the services that we provide.”
