Per- and polyfluoroalkyl substances (PFAS) have been produced in the U.S. since the 1940s and are used in a wide variety of products and applications. PFAS are persistent in the environment and resistant to environmental degradation. The potential bioaccumulation of PFAS is a concern, and the Environmental Protection Agency considers PFAS to be emerging contaminants. This Super Session, which covers laying the foundation, research and legislation and regulation in part one and treatment options in part two, will address all things PFAS. Speakers will provide background information and discuss historical legal challenges, sampling and analytical challenges and opportunities, policy updates and treatment options including underground injection, destruction and separation.

Speakers:
Angus McGrath, Senior Principal, Stantec Consulting Services, Inc.
Arie Kremen, Senior Client Manager, Tetra Tech
Ivan Cooper, Principal, National Water/Wastewater Practice Leader, Civil & Environmental Consultants, Inc.
Steven Menoff, Senior Vice President, Civil & Environmental Consultants, Inc.
