Casella Reports Net Loss

Rutland, Vt.-based Casella Waste Systems reported a net loss of $1.5 million on $133.7 million in revenue during the second quarter of its 2010 fiscal year. The firm’s second quarter ended on Oct. 31.

For the same period in its 2009 fiscal year, Casella reported a net income of $2.1 million on $157.5 million in revenue.

For the first six months of its 2010 fiscal year, Casella reported a net loss of $4.3 million on $266.8 million in revenue. During the same period in its 2009 fiscal year, the firm reported a net income of $4.2 million on revenue of $315.4 million.
