SWANA Reports Conference Recycling Figures

Silver Spring, Md. -- The Solid Waste Association of North America (SWANA) has reported recycling and composting figures from WASTECON, which was held in St. Louis Oct. 14-16. The association reports that 3,100 pounds of paper, 685 pounds of glass, plastic, steel and aluminum containers and 400 pounds of cardboard were sent to recycling facilities. Additionally, SWANA also collected food waste for the first time and sent 558 pounds of food to St. Louis area composting facilities.
