Waste Industries USA Reports Fourth-Quarter Revenue Gains

Waste Industries USA, Raleigh, N.C., has reported increased revenues for the fourth-quarter 2007 of $84.7 million from $81.1 million for the same quarter in 2006. Net income dipped to $5.1 million for the fourth-quarter 2007 from $5.4 million for the same quarter the previous year.

"Our performance for the fourth quarter and 2007 was in line with our expectations,” said Jim Perry, president and CEO of Waste Industries USA, in a press release. “Going into 2008, we believe our operating fundamentals are well established, which should help us deal with the current sluggish economy, and our strong balance sheet should enable us to take advantage of any strategic growth opportunities."

For the year, the company reports a net income of $23.7 million on revenues of $340.7 million, compared to $19.3 million on revenues of $327.5 million in 2006.
