Houston-based Waste Management has announced third-quarter revenues of $3.4 billion, a decrease from $3.44 billion in third-quarter 2006. Net income for the quarter was $278 million, a decrease from $300 million for the same quarter last year. Year-to-date figures were not provided.
Company officials say the decreases are due to labor disputes and rising oil prices. A labor dispute in Oakland, Calif., was settled in July, but cost the company 3 cents per diluted share, according to a press release.
