Popular makeup chain, Sephora, is helping customers recycle their empty recycling containers easily.

Sephora’s program, Beauty (Re)Purposed, is a recycling program that allows customers to simply drop off empty make up containers in store.

This program stems from a partnership with Pact, a nonprofit collective that aims to close the loop on hard-to-recycle packaging waste.

Customers are encouraged to clean out their makeup packaging at home and drop those empty containers in dedicated collection bins at their local Sephora. Customers should make sure containers are completely clean, unbagged, and free of liquid to avoid contamination and to be properly recycled.

The program has launched in Chicago where it’s reported that the Chicago Southport Sephora has collected the most makeup packaging materials in the country since the program officially began.
