Lynchburg, Va., to Begin Paying for Recycling Service Under New Agreement

For years, Sonoco Recycling, LLC has provided the city of Lynchburg, Va., with free hauling services for recyclables. But now, under a new agreement, the city will begin paying a fee for those hauling services.

The new 12-month amendment, which was finalized last week, states that Sonoco will charge the city a flat rate of $52.75 for each recycling container that’s picked up, delivered to its Madison Heights recycling facility and returned to its original location. The pricing for the services will be reevaluated on February 28 “for market fluctuations and/or fuel prices.”
