This year, the waste and recycling industry has gone through many ups and downs. But one of the major highlights of the year has been the relationships formed between industry workers and the younger generation.

Throughout the course of the year, a 6-year-old boy started a fundraiser for his garbage man who became paralyzed from a vehicle accident, excited triplets delivered cold drinks to sanitation workers on a hot day and a young boy hosted his birthday party at a garbage facility.
