BLT Enterprises has contracted Solar Power Inc. to design and implement an on-site system that will provide solar energy to BLT’s Fremont Recycling and Transfer Station.

The solar system will reportedly produce more than 576,000 kWh of electricity and save the facility more than $128,000 in electricity costs during its first year of operation. Over a quarter of a decade, the system should reduce the facility’s electric bill by more than $4.24 million, according to Solar Power.
