In 2016, Lindsay McCormick founded Bite in her quest to answer two questions: Why does toothpaste come in plastic tubes and what exactly are we putting in our bodies when we brush our teeth?

Already working toward a zero waste, vegan lifestyle, McCormick sprinted into action to find a way to reduce the more than 1.5 billion toothpaste tubes that make it into landfills each year.

With consumer demand rising for sustainable products, McCormick and her co-founder Asher Hunt made an appearance on ABC's Shark Tank in early 2020. She turned down a lucrative opportunity from Marc Cuban, determined to make her entrepreneurial dream successful on her own.

In this episode of Stef Talks Trash, Editorial Director Stefanie Valentic speaks with McCormick about how she built her business, her appearance on Shark Tank and how producers have a responsibility to encourage sustainable practices throughout their supply chain.
