TerraCycle Launches SalonCycle Collection, Recycling Program in the UK

Following its launch in the United States, TerraCycle has now rolled out its SalonCycle program in the UK, providing a recycling solution for shops nationwide.

SalonCycle is a program that helps salons divert waste from landfills by allowing them to easily recycle materials including the hard-to-recycle and specialty waste each salon goes through.

Salons will need to purchase one of TerraCycle’s SalonCycle boxes, put items in the box, and send it back to TerraCycle using the pre-affixed UPS shipping label. From there, TerraCycle sorts the waste, cleans it, and then it’s processed into raw materials.

Items such as cosmetic tubes, plastic pumps, flexible and rigid plastic containers, disposable globes, and more can be collected. There is also a separate box meant for collecting human hair for recycling.
