Advanced Disposal Services Inc. has made several managerial appointments.

The Ponte Vedra, Fla.-based waste and recycling company has named John Spegal as vice president, business development; Mark Nighbor director of marketing and sales; Jennefer Klennert municipal marketing and government affairs manager; and Jeffrey Nie, Midwest regional sales manager.

Spegal will be responsible for mergers, acquisitions and strategic growth initiatives for the company. He previous worked for seven years with AIR-serv Group LLC as regional vice president for the private equity group. “John has a proven track record for delivering positive results,” said Advanced Disposal President Richard Burke.

Nighbor will oversee the development and execution of marketing and sales programs including launching a new customer relationship management tool companywide, redesign of AdvancedDisposal.com, marketing data research and streamlined customer communication. Prior to joining Advanced Disposal he served as regional sales director for Veolia Environmental Services Solid Waste.

Klennert will work throughout Minnesota and northwestern Wisconsin to build customer bases and develop relationships with elected officials and staff.

Nie will oversee a team of six sales managers in four states.

The company announced the move of its headquarters to Ponte Vedra in December after tripling its size with the consolidation of Veolia ES Solid Waste Inc. and Interstate Waste Services Inc. into its operations.
