Nashville Cats

Jacksonville, Fla.-based Advanced Disposal Services recently made two moves in the Nashville, Tenn., market. The firm completed its acquisition of Nashville-based Waste Removal Services. Terms of the transaction were not disclosed.

Waste Removal Services provides hauling and disposal services to about 170 commercial customers in the middle Tennessee area. Berl Mayfield, former owner and operator of Waste Removal Services, has joined Advanced Disposal.

"There's something to be said for a family-owned business that has been handed down from generation to generation," said Advanced Disposal's Mid-South Area President Gerald Greene in a press release. "Our goal is to build upon Waste Removal Services' great reputation and carry on both companies' strong tradition of quality service and commitment to the community. Customers can be assured they will continue to receive the most responsive and environmentally responsible solid waste and recycling services possible."

Advanced Disposal Services Inc. has also acquired the assets of Excel Waste, which include a construction and demolition (C&D) materials recycling facility (MRF) in Nashville.

"With the acquisition of this C&D recycling facility, we will give our commercial customers the ability to bid on LEED certified projects because they know that they have a waste and recycling partner in Advanced Disposal helping them reach their goals of waste reduction and sustainability throughout their business," said Greene in a press release. "We are committed to being good stewards to the environment and are pleased to be making this commitment to our newest market."
