Peoria, Ill.-based Caterpillar is stepping into the world of heavy-duty trucks and will introduce its debut line — called the Cat CT660 — at ConExpo on March 22, 2011, in Las Vegas. The trucks will be for a variety of applications — including waste hauling, moving rock, logging and pouring concrete — and will be sold and serviced exclusively through the Cat North American Dealer Network.

Production on the trucks is slated to begin after ConExpo for delivery to customers later in 2011.

Caterpillar is a manufacturer of landfill heavy equipment, construction equipment and engines.
