Two N.J. Recycling Companies Accused of Illegally Storing Trash

Reliable Group, LLC and Pace Glass, Inc. were recently issued more than 35 summonses and code violations by Jersey City, N.J., Chief Prosecutor Jake Hudnut for allegedly storing garbage illegally at their facility located at 1 Caven Point Avenue.
According to findings from a recent investigation, the companies have been storing residual waste in large piles standing more than 40 feet high, and several disintegrating waste containers have been exposing hazardous contents to nearby neighborhoods.

A pair of recycling companies were hit with dozens of new code violations and criminal charges Tuesday after a multi-agency investigation determined the businesses are illegally storing garbage at a facility in Jersey City, authorities said.
Jersey City Chief Prosecutor Jake Hudnut served Reliable Group, LLC and Pace Glass, Inc. with more than 35 summonses and code violations, and filed charges against those in leadership positions at the companies.
Facing at least one count each of maintaining a nuisance are:
Leonard Pirrello, president of Reliable
George Mahoney, COO of Pace
George Valiotis, CEO of Pace
Vincent Pace, owner of Pace
Reliable Group and Pace Glass did not return messages seeking comment on the charges.
