Alabama County Writes Off Recycling Company's Debt

Questions were raised during Tuesday's Baldwin County Commission meeting by Commissioner Frank Burt about an uncollectible account write-off involving the county's recyclable materials.

Tarpon Paper Company in Loxley, which had a contract for the county's annual recycling services until July 2013, told the county they were unable to fulfill their contract's payment terms due to "a volatile recycle market and operational cash flow issues."
