The Morning Call
A decision on whether a Lower Saucon landfill can go ahead with plans for an internal expansion will have to wait till next year.
Representatives of the IESI Bethlehem Landfill began testifying before the township Zoning Hearing Board on Monday night as part of the process of seeking a special exception permit to allow the expansion.
The board did not expect to reach a decision from the two-hour hearing and granted IESI a continuance, which calls for testimony to resume Jan. 18.
While IESI is moving forward to obtain the permit, Maryann Garber, the attorney representing the company, said another issue on the table is the company's position that it does not need such a permit.
