Phoenix Recycling to Expand Operations in La Plata County

The Durango Herald

Phoenix Recycling intends to open a recycled-materials processing center on 30 acres off County Road 307 in the hopes of streamlining that process for the city of Durango.

Owner Mark Thompson received unanimous approval on Tuesday from La Plata County commissioners Brad Blake and Gwen Lachelt. Commissioner Julie Westendorff was absent.

The request required commission approval of a Class II land-use permit.
