PTR Baler & Compactor Opens New Manufacturing Facility in Plant City, Fla.
The Philadelphia-based firm said it has been on a quest to grow its reach in the Southeast.
PTR Baler & Compactor unveiled a new facility in late July in Plant City, Fla., that will help the company expand further into the region.
The Philadelphia-based firm said it has been on a quest to grow its reach in the Southeast. The new facility will help it achieve those goals. The company manufactures balers and compactors and other industry equipment.
“It culminates a yearlong search that we feel will be a tremendous opportunity to expand our capacity in the Southeast,” PTR CEO Mike Savage said in a statement. “I have been impressed by the commitment of our people and their ability to produce the highest quality of equipment and service to our customers. We look forward to our continued growth and expansion in Plant City.”
The new facility includes a large lot of land to allow for additional expansion options as needed. The 10,000-sq.-ft. facility begins operations immediately.
By increasing its manufacturing capacity PTR, said it will meet growing demand for its products, installations, emergency repair service and parts.
“We are thrilled to welcome PTR Baler and Compactor to Plant City,” Jake Austin, president and CEO of the Plant City Economic Development Corp. said in a statement. “PTR is exactly the kind of company we want in our community"
PTR has striven to keep 100 percent of its manufacturing in the United States. By keeping its operations in the United States, PTR said it is able to constantly improve the quality of the products and streamline the process in order to best serve its customers.
The firm pointed out that U.S. Secretary of Labor Thomas Perez made a formal visit to PTR’s headquarters in January.
“Whoever said manufacturing is dead in America hasn’t been to PTR,” Perez said in a statement. “These folks are not only building equipment; they’re building the middle class. This is the example that the president talks about all the time when he talks about America at its best.”
The new facility has created jobs for welders, painters, installers and technicians.
