Scottish Circular Economy Dealmaking Expected to Spike

Between the years 2020 and 2021, investments into the circular economy industry in Scotland increased by 64%.

This increase takes the form of 119 investments for an industry focused on "sharing, leasing, reusing, repairing, refurbishing and recycling existing materials and products."

A Scottish merger and acquisitions team, BDO, inspects these investments to predict the future of the industry.

"BDO’s research found 33% of circular economy deals have been done in the manufacturing and industrials sector, another third have been in food and drink, and 22% have been in retail, leisure and consumer markets."
