Spartanburg County Proposed Budget Includes $5 Fee Increase for Landfill

Spartanburg County Council on Monday approved the first reading of a $187 million budget that includes a $5 service fee increase to fund an expansion at the county landfill. The residential solid waste fee is levied per household on personal property tax bills.

The county’s proposed spending plan also includes a 3.75 percent raise for county employees and the reinstatement of several frozen positions.

It does not propose a tax increase. It does include some minor fee adjustments for parks and Probate Court.
