NASHVILLE, TN – Waste Management (WM) has made a $500,000 donation to the American Red Cross to help people affected by recent tornadoes in Kentucky and surrounding states. The donation will also help families and communities who continue to face increased emergency needs brought on by this year’s other weather-related disasters.

WM provides services throughout the country and the disaster relief donation will enable the Red Cross to prepare for, respond to and help people recover from disasters - big and small.

“The American Red Cross is leading the way in supporting communities across the impacted region that WM serves. We are proud to provide assistance for this important work,” said Eddie McManus, area vice president, WM Mid South.

“Thanks to WM’s generous support this holiday season, the American Red Cross is able to shelter and support families impacted by disasters big and small across the country,” said Anne McKeough, chief development officer at the Red Cross. “We are grateful for companies like WM as we work together to provide comfort and hope to people in need when the unthinkable happens.”
