Waste Management Launches Waste Watch Program in Florida
The program will train drivers to become the eyes and ears of the communities they are serving.

With the hopes of aiding law enforcement efforts in cities across the U.S., Republic Services, Waste Management and other haulers are teaming up with police departments by participating in community watch programs.
A few months ago, Waste Management in Hobbs, N.M., partnered with the Hobbs Police Department to train drivers as “backup” to help reduce illegal activity in the community. And now, the company has launched a Waste Watch program in North Palm Beach, Fla., and Martin County, Fla.
The program will train drivers to become the eyes and ears of the communities they are serving so that they can report any emergencies or suspicious activities to the police department during their routes.
