Medical Waste Firm Stericycle Posts Stronger Results for 2014

Medical waste firm Stericycle Inc. posted higher net income and revenue for its 2014 fourth quarter and year.

For the quarter ended Dec. 31 net income for the Lake Forest, Ill-based Stericycle rose 5.6 percent to $82.5 million, or 96 cents per diluted share, compared with $78.2 million, or 90 cents per diluted share, in the 2013 period.

Revenue for the final quarter climbed 19.2 percent to $676.9 million from $567.9 million a year earlier, according to a news release.

For the year, net earnings increased 4.8 percent to $326.5 million, or $3.79 per diluted share, compared with $311.4 million, or  $3.56 per diluted share, in 2013. Revenue advanced 19.3 percent to $2.56 billion from $2.14 billion a year ago.
