Kimberly-Clark, a manufacturer of health and hygiene products, has set a goal of sending zero manufacturing waste to landfills by the year 2015. The goal is one of several sustainability initiatives that the firm — whose brands include Kleenex, Huggies and Kotex — announced today. The firm is calling the series of goals its “Sustainability 2015” plan.

The firm’s other environmental goals include a 25 percent reduction in water usage by 2015 and a 5 percent decrease in greenhouse gas emissions by the same year.

“Kimberly-Clark’s Sustainability 2015 is a holistic way of weaving sustainable business practice and mindset into everything we do as an integral component of our global business plan,” said Suhas Apte, vice president of sustainability for Kimberly Clark, in a press release. “Sustainability 2015 allows opportunities for all global employees and businesses within the company to take an active role to achieve Kimberly-Clark’s vision of leading the world in essentials for a better life.”
