Baltimore, MD residents are starting to get concerned that promises of a weekly recycling service returning to the city are falling through.
After several delays and missed deadlines, residents are questioning Mayor Brandon Scott’s promise of a recycling service and are becoming concerned.
“I had to build a fence to contain it all to hold it that long and not create a bunch of litter around the neighborhood,” said Baltimore City resident Desmond Stinnie.
Mayor Scott promised last April that a weekly recycling service would return by the end of Q1 2024.
“They're [residents] gravely concerned and this is something that I continue to hear people talk about for the upcoming election is that they say this is what we expect from our leaders,” said Baltimore City Councilman Yitzy Schleifer.
“It should have been done a long time ago.”
