After voting to partner with St Peter’s Hospice, Bristol Waste has now donated more than £41,000 to the charity thanks to the city’s secondhand shopping commitment.

Recently, Bristol Waste donated £16,139 which was collected through the efforts of Bristol Waste’s Reuse Shop teams and Household Reuse and Recycling Center staff. Plus, money is raised from residents who contribute and shop at the Reuse Shops located in Bristol.

“We are here to keep Bristol clean and safe, helping to deliver the city’s sustainability targets in partnership with the council. One of our values at Bristol Waste is that we do what’s right. This commitment to social value includes our dedication to reuse and support for St Peter’s Hospice,” said Dave Knight, interim managing director for Bristol Waste.

“There is a real sense of care and a sense of community at Bristol Waste. Through our award-winning reuse program, we donate part of the profits from our Reuse Shops to charity. The rest of the profits are reinvested into Bristol and its services. I’d like to thank everyone who has donated to, shopped at or volunteered in our Reuse Shops.”
