A sizeable group of California counties are coming together to sue Elon Musk’s Tesla with claims that the company mishandled hazardous waste at its facilities across the state.
The lawsuit was filed on Tuesday from 25 California counties, including Los Angeles, Alameda, San Joaquin, and San Francisco. The counties are seeking civil penalties and an injunction that would require Tesla to properly handle its waste.
The lawsuit claims violations have occurred at 101 facilities, including at Tesla’s manufacturing plant in Fremont.
