Collier County, Fla., officials just celebrated the completion of construction for a new recycling drop-off center in the northeastern part of the county.
The facility, which took a year and a half to complete, will help area residents dispose of their hazardous waste properly. County residents can drop off recyclable materials and household chemicals such as oils, paints, fluorescent bulbs, electronics, herbicides and pesticides.

A new recycling drop-off center is opening in Northeast Collier County.
County leaders held a ribbon cutting Tuesday morning to celebrate the completion of construction on the nearly 30,000 square foot facility.
The $80 million drop-off center took about a year and a half to complete. It’s the fifth recycling center to open in Collier County.
