Jaguar Land Rover is using a recycled material, called Econyl nylon, for its car interiors. Econyl is made from ocean and landfill waste.

Next-generation Jaguar and Land Rover models will have floor mats and trim pieces made from Econyl.

Econyl has been developed by nylon manufacturer Aquafil and reduces production-related emissions by 90 percent compared to conventional materials.
For some time, automakers have been using a small amount of recycled plastic in car interiors. The Jaguar I-Pace electric SUV, the gasoline-powered Land Rover Range Rover and the Range Rover Evoque use Kvadrat, which incorporates 53 recycled plastic bottles per vehicle. In addition, the 2021 Polestar 2 electric car includes a vegan interior and the BMW i3 includes Kenaf, a plant-based material, in its cabin.
