Envirostream Australia, a subsidiary of Lithium Australia, has signed an exclusive agreement to recycle end-of-life batteries from Volvo Group Australia’s buses division.

The initial agreement is a three-year contract that will make Lithium Australia the exclusive recycler for Volvo’s electric and hybrid bus batteries in Australia. Volvo recently supplied its electric bus models to Australian customers like the Public Transport Authority in West Australia and Transdev in Queensland.

“The agreement validates our strategy to target large-scale OEMs and ESS manufacturers to grow our share of the high margin, large-format battery collection volumes,” said Simon Linge, CEO and managing director of Lithium Australia.

“We are very excited by the exclusive recycling agreement signed with Volvo, a leading manufacturer of electric buses in Australia.”
