Popular fashion brand Patagonia is partnering with Eastman to recycle 8,000 pounds of pre- and post-consumer clothing waste.
The clothing waste will go through Eastman’s molecular recycling technology, which will break down clothes deemed unusable from Patagonia into molecular building blocks. After which those blocks will be used to make new fibers.
“We have the technology to make the textiles industry circular, and we know it requires collaboration with innovative brands to make circular fashion possible. This is only the beginning, and we look forward to more collaborations throughout 2024,” said Eastman Textiles global marketing lead Carolina Sister Cohn.
