Pennsylvania Township to Transition to Single Stream Recycling in October

The Washington Township Recycling Center in Waynesboro, Pa., is making the switch to single stream recycling on October 24, 2016. With the new program, residential recyclable items will be accepted for free if they are properly placed in the yellow bins that lead to the transfer station’s scales.
The recycling center also accepts electronics twice a week, magazines, telephone books, newspapers, file folders, office paper, greeting cards, junk mail, corrugated cardboard, paperboard boxes, paper cartons, plastic containers 1 through 7, metal cans and glass bottles.

The Washington Township (Pa.) Recycling Center is transitioning to single-stream recycling in which all items can be placed in one bin.
Effective Saturday, Oct. 24, all residential recyclable items will be accepted for free if placed in the yellow bins on the right side of the line leading to the transfer station's scales. People not planning to enter the scales can exit to the right.
