An increase in recycling rates is coming to Lackawanna County, Penn. that is three times agreed to amount.

The Lackawanna County recycling center is raising its recycling rates from $40 a ton to$120 a ton which will affect 40 municipalities in the area. The current agreement between the county and recycling center runs through 2025 and states that the discount rate of $40 per ton will remain until the end of the contract.

In the midst of this news, the recycling company apparently owes Lackawanna County Office of Environmental Sustainability $30,000.
