Two Work Release-inmates Involved in an Accident at Mid-America Recycling
A concrete divider at Mid-America Recycling in Lincoln, Neb., fell over last week, injuring one work-release inmate and killing another. Both inmates were assigned to the Community Corrections Center – Lincoln.
Fifty-eight-year-old Dennis Hines died after the accident, and he was serving up to 10 years for possession of a controlled substance with intent to deliver. Forty-six-year-old Jarrod Mittan was treated for non-life threatening injuries, and he is serving up to 12 years for theft by receiving stolen property and possession of a controlled substance.
Lincoln police contacted the Occupational Safety & Health Administration (OSHA) to visit the facility for an investigation of the site, and a Grand Jury is set to conduct a full investigation in the near future.

Jarrod Mittan, 46, was treated for non-life threatening injuries and expected to be released from the hospital Friday, April 15. His last address was in Lincoln, Nebraska.
The men were hurt after a concrete divider fell over at a recycling facility Thursday, according to the company's president.
