Fashion designer Heron Preston previously worked with Kanye West and this week, he turned used uniforms from the City of New York Department of Sanitation into fashionable outfits for New York Fashion Week.

“I just noticed service workers weren’t as celebrated as the F.D.N.Y. or the N.Y.P.D.,” said Mr. Heron, who has also worked with Nike as an envoy to the fashion and nightlife world. “Without them, we wouldn’t be able to live in this amazing city.
