Cosmetology students at the Central Vermont Career Center are the first students in the state to work with a beauty waste recycling company.
GLO Recycling is working with the students to help make Vermont beauty salons more eco-friendly. GLO partners with salons across the U.S. to help reduce salon pollution and waste. The company sends boxes to partnering salons to collect different types of waste such as hair, chemicals, and plastics.
“The great part is now we’ve got this beautiful package that the students can share and educate others about and bring it to the industry and bring it to other places in Vermont,” Christina Currier, cosmetology instructor said.
