Video Catches the Moment a Missouri Battery Recycling Plant Explodes

A video shows an explosion at a battery recycling plant in Fredericktown, Mo. after the center caught fire earlier on Wednesday.

A video shows an explosion at a battery recycling plant in Fredericktown, Mo. after the center caught fire earlier on Wednesday.

Critical Mineral Recovery owns the facility, which is one of the largest lithium-ion battery processing facilities in the world. The building caught fire on Wednesday, Oct. 30, and as of this writing, no cause of fire has been given.

The Fredericktown Fire Department responded to the fire and there have been no casualties reported. Residents were asked to evacuate in some areas while others were advised to stay indoors.
