Watertown, NY Invests in New Trucks for Waste, Recycling Collection

After the idea of cutting its trash service was considered earlier in August, Watertown, N.Y. is investing back in its trash pickup service.

After the idea of cutting its trash service was considered earlier in August, Watertown, N.Y. is investing back in its trash pickup service.

Earlier this week, City Council members in Watertown voted to issue bonds for $600,000 to cover the cost of two new trucks for the city’s service. One truck will work with trash and the other will collect recycling around the city.

The City Council expects the trucks will be available in a year or two. Eric Wagenaar, City Manager, explained that the city will likely budget for additional new trucks next year.
