The Bay County, Fla., waste-to-energy (WTE) facility is expected to receive $840,000 from the county for facility reconstruction after Hurricane Michael. Bay County Commissioners on March 19 agreed to award the contract for the facility’s reconstruction to Emerald Coast Constructors, according to an NBC News 7 report.
Although the money will come out of the county’s budget, commissioners said the county will ask the Federal Emergency Management Agency for reimbursement.
