Washington, D.C. -- According to a report recently released by the American Forest and Paper Association (AF&PA), U.S. recycling levels have remained high despite sharp declines in domestic paper consumption. Specifically, total recovery of paper and paperboard for domestic use and export rose 1.1 percent in 2000 and held even in 2001.
Additionally, the paper recovery rate for 2001 was 48.3 percent, compared with a 45.8 percent paper recovery rate in 2000.
