Arizona DEQ Awards More than $666,000 in Recycling Projects

Phoenix -- The Arizona Department of Environmental Quality (DEQ) has awarded $666,001 to 10 companies, communities and nonprofit organizations to develop or expand their recycling programs.

This year's recipients include the City of Flagstaff; Desert Waste Not Warehouse, Tucson; Christmas in April – Valley of the Sun, Tempe; Holbrook Clean and Beautiful, Holbrook; Sedona Recycles, Sedona; Westech Recyclers Inc., Phoenix; Santa Cruz County, Nogales; Mattera Enterprises Recycling Inc., Northridge, Calif.; Town of Cave Creek, Ariz.; and the Southwest Public Recycling Association, Tucson.

Since its inception, the DEQ has awarded more than $9 million to reduce solid waste, encourage recycling and promote proper hazardous waste disposal.
