EPA Adds Environmental Performance Track Members

Washington, D.C. – The U.S. Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) has accepted 32 new members into its National Environmental Performance Track program. Performance Track now includes 280 members recognized for their achievements in waste reduction, recycling and reduced emissions.

New members are Arkansas International Paper, Pine Bluff Mill, Pine Bluff, Ark.; Tetra Pak Materials LP, Fort Wayne, Ind.; Iowa E.I. du Pont de Nemours and Co. Inc., Fort Madison, Iowa; IBM Corp.’s Thomas J. Watson Research Center, Yorktown Heights, N.Y.; Palmetto Landfill and Recycling Center, Wellford, S.C.; Richland Landfill, Elgin, S.C.; Oakridge Landfill, Dorchester, S.C.; and Hickory Hill Landfill and Recycling Center, Ridgeland, S.C.

The members have agreed to meet their commitments to the environment within the next three years. Since its inception, program members have committed to reducing solid waste by 225 million pounds; lowering greenhouse gas emissions by 26 million pounds; recycling or reusing more than 5 million pounds of materials; and reducing volatile organic compound emissions by 98,000 pounds.
