At least one man is willing to do a little dumpster diving to retrieve a prized possession. In fact, he even went as far as sliding down the garbage chute, after his wife threw out his favorite sweater.

The 25-year-old Ecuadorian man decided to enter the 9-inch-wide garbage hole on the building's third floor, legs first, after discovering the basement door to the garbage area was locked. However, he got stuck between two floors, and could not climb back up the rope of knotted bed sheets his wife had sent down for him.

Fortunately, firefighters came to the rescue. β€œIt was not difficult at all because I am quite small,” the diver told a local newspaper. β€œI knew the garbage probably would be collected early in the morning, so I rushed to save the sweater.”

The basement doors eventually were unlocked so the man could retrieve his filthy, but still coveted, sweater.
