Washington, D.C. -- The House passed by voice vote on May 1 on a measure to provide scientists with a more prominent role at the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency (EPA). The measure will create a deputy director for science and technology to coordinate scientific research at the agency and will give the head of the Office of Research and Development the additional title of "chief scientist."
