Republic Reports Increased First Quarter Earnings

Ft. Lauderdale, Fla. -- Republic Services Inc. has reported first quarter 2002 revenue of $551.9 million, compared with revenue of $535.4 million for the same quarter last year; net income of $54.9 million, compared with net income of $49.6 million for the same quarter last year; and operating income of $106.9 million, compared with operating income of $98.9 million for the same quarter last year.
