It seems that today's waste management and recycling directors are challenging the idea that refuse vehicles are supposed to look like the materials they carry. But what exactly should a refuse vehicle in the 90s look like?

According to the World Wastes judges, whose comments ranged from "Wow! They are so clean!" to "That beats the truck that picks up my trash any day." Cleanliness, visibility and creativity are the keys to success. With this in mind, we present the winners of the 17th Annual Design Contest.
